Blank newels are used for cutting-edge staircases. They have clean lines and are not ornate. It can add grooves or panels all posts, but it’s more common to keep them simple and clean. The Stair Source newels are all 100% Red Oak or White Oak, no veneer. Blank newels are commonly topped with a “hat” or chamfered.
