Antique Faroese pilot whale spear tip. From the beginning of the 1900s. The spear from the Faroe Islands was part of a hunting set consisting of a harpoon tip, a spear tip and a hook. Ideally, there is also a spear knife in a hunting set, however, these knives are typically small works of art that are inherited in Faroese families, where the harpoons, spears and hooks are objects of use and therefore less common for sale than the knives.
